"The show is at once universal and personal ... much of Magnan's work is
a meditation not only on the struggle, but on the beauty and depth of what
he saw ... body image | body essence attests to his empathy, and to his
artistry." Cate McQuaid, Art Reviewer Boston Globe |

"Powerful. Inspiring. Pain and loss are evident,
but strength to endure and to fight is revealed."
A supporter. "Incredibly moved by images -- particularly the way the sculptor has captured the importance of 'hair' as a sense of worth. I'm quite overwhelmed by how false this is -- and how much our society places value on superficial things. Yes, you do feel diminished." A survivor |
Artist's Installation Note: Below and to the right are photos of the scuptures
being installed at the Boston Museum of Science, the most frequently visited
cultural institution in the state of Massachusetts. BMOS offered a unique
challenge: protect fine art in an environment that otherwise encourages
visitors of all ages to touch and interact with what they see. The solutions
seen here - knee walls and plexiglas covers - worked well for making the art
accessible while keeping it safe.
